Fireworks near Sachse, TX

Sachse straddles the Dallas and Collin county line, tucked between Garland, Wylie and Murphy. For a trip out to our store, the George Bush Turnpike does most of the work, dropping you onto I-30 for a straight run east.

Sachse has one of the clearest fireworks rules around. The city bans fireworks inside city limits, and its definition includes sparklers. If you want a show without leaving town, the city puts one on each summer at Heritage Park.

Driving from Sachse

Count on about 40 minutes and 32 miles. From central Sachse, take Miles Road to the President George Bush Turnpike and head south. That's a toll road, so have a TollTag or expect a bill by mail. After about 7 miles the turnpike meets I-30. Merge onto I-30 east and stay on it for roughly 20 miles, across Lake Ray Hubbard and past Rockwall and Royse City.

Take Exit 83 for FM 1565 and follow the frontage road to 5159 I-30 in Caddo Mills. If you'd rather skip tolls, set your map app to avoid them. Expect the drive to take longer.

Sachse fireworks rules

Banned inside city limits

Sachse prohibits the possession, manufacture, storage, sale, handling and use of fireworks inside city limits, including sparklers. Violations are a misdemeanor with a fine of up to $2,000.

Ordinance No. 3428, Sec. 9 (adopted Oct. 15, 2012). Source: City of Sachse FAQ: Are fireworks allowed in the City of Sachse?, checked 2026-10-20.

The City of Sachse's own FAQ says the possession, manufacture, storage, sale, handling and use of fireworks within city limits is prohibited. The city's definition covers 1.4G consumer fireworks and names sparklers specifically. A violation is a misdemeanor with a fine of up to $2,000. The rule traces to Ordinance No. 3428, Section 9, adopted in October 2012.

This applies on both the Dallas County and Collin County sides of town. Because possession is covered too, read the city's page before you buy, and call Sachse Fire Rescue if anything is unclear. See /texas-fireworks-laws/ for the statewide rules.

Where you can legally shoot

Not in Sachse. People from Sachse who shoot their own fireworks generally head outside city limits to private land where they have the owner's permission. Texas cities can enforce fireworks rules up to 5,000 feet past their limits, so check the rules for the exact spot you're going.

Then check the county. Collin County and Dallas County can each restrict certain fireworks during drought, and burn bans can apply. Start with /texas-fireworks-laws/collin/ or /texas-fireworks-laws/dallas/. Don't use a park, school or other public land unless an official source says you can. The easy legal option is the city's own show at Heritage Park.

Rather watch a show?

Sachse holds its Red, White & Blue Blast at Heritage Park each summer. The 2026 event was July 3 with fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Check the city calendar for next year's date. Source
