Fireworks near Commerce, TX

Commerce is the only town on this list where you drive west to reach us. The store sits on I-30 between Greenville and Royse City, so from Commerce you drop down SH 24 and take the interstate back toward Dallas for a bit.

Commerce is in Hunt County, same as the store, and it's home to East Texas A&M University. If you're a student or new to town, know that the city code bars fireworks inside Commerce city limits unless a display has a permit from the fire chief.

Driving from Commerce

Figure about 35 minutes and 29 miles. From downtown Commerce, take Monroe Street to Culver Street (SH 11/Loop 178), then turn onto SH 24 and head southwest for about 9 miles. SH 24 feeds into I-30. Merge onto I-30 west and stay on it about 17 miles, past Greenville.

Exit toward FM 1565 and follow the I-30 frontage road about a mile to 5159 I-30, Caddo Mills, at Exit 83. Coming from the east you'll be on the frontage road before the store, so watch for it on your right.

Commerce fireworks rules

Banned inside city limits

Commerce Code Sec. 42-2 bars possession of combustible fireworks within city limits and restricts their sale, with public or private displays allowed only by permit from the fire chief.

Sec. 42-2, Discharge of and dealing in fireworks. Source: City of Commerce Code of Ordinances, Chapter 42 (Municode), checked 2026-10-20.

The City of Commerce Code of Ordinances, Section 42-2, "Discharge of and dealing in fireworks," bars possession of combustible fireworks within city limits. It also restricts selling them in the city, with exceptions for wholesale. Public or private displays need a permit from the fire chief, and the fire marshal decides whether a display is safe enough to approve.

This section has old roots and the code has been updated since, so read the current text on Municode or call the Commerce Fire Department. We did not find a stated fine amount. See /texas-fireworks-laws/ for the statewide rules.

Where you can legally shoot

Not inside Commerce without a permit. People from Commerce who shoot their own usually go out into unincorporated Hunt County, to private land where the owner has given permission, and well outside city limits. Texas cities can enforce fireworks rules up to 5,000 feet past their limits.

Hunt County can limit certain fireworks during drought and can put a burn ban in place. Check the county's current orders before you go, and read our /texas-fireworks-laws/hunt/ page. University property, parks and other public land aren't OK unless an official source says so.

Before you come

Reserve online and pay in the store when you pick up. We don't ship, ever. Pickup is only at 5159 I-30 in Caddo Mills, with 8.25% sales tax added at pickup. You can reserve before a season opens, and pickup starts on opening day. Hours vary by season, so check our /visit/ page.
