County-option season

County-option season, approved by the Hunt County Commissioners Court.

On April 21, 1836, Sam Houston's army defeated Santa Anna at the Battle of San Jacinto. The battle lasted about 18 minutes and won Texas its independence. San Jacinto Day honors that win, and in Hunt County, the week before is a fireworks season.
Texas law lets a county commissioners court approve fireworks sales from April 16 through midnight on April 21. It is not a statewide season. It only happens where the county approves it, so check the dates and status above for this year.
This window often lands near Easter, so some families use it for spring get-togethers, too. Spring evenings in North Texas are a nice time to be outside, and the store is usually calmer than in summer. We are on the I-30 frontage road at Exit 83 in Caddo Mills. You can reserve online and pay in the store at pickup. There is no shipping, only local pickup.
Hours for the season are posted above and on our Visit page. Most cities ban fireworks inside city limits. Check your city and county rules before you light anything.
A spring show does not need to be huge. A few 200 gram cakes and a handful of fountains make a fun evening. Sparklers, smoke and other novelties are easy wins for kids at a family party. If you want more noise and color, add a 500 gram cake or some reloadable artillery shells. Assortment packs are a good way to get a mix at one price. Roman candles and firecrackers add some fun in between. Ask our staff what fits your group and your space.

San Jacinto Day sales are a county option under Texas Occupations Code 2154.202(h). The Hunt County Commissioners Court has approved it. A county drought order can still restrict some items.
This isn't legal advice. Check your city and county rules. Never use fireworks where they are banned, and follow any county burn ban.
